The Marble Arch

What can I say? It's a great Manchester pub and one of the best in the country. Worth visiting for its interior alone which is a Victorian gem with beautiful tiling throughout the main room, and the sloping mosaic floor adds extra character! People go on about the Philharmonic Dining Rooms in Liverpool, which is admittedly not to be missed, but I think this is better. There are some good real ales on tap too. Usually about a dozen or so, most of which come from the Marble's own brewery. The food is also good - if a little pricey.

My last visit was just before Christmas. Not the best time to go as the place was absolutely rammed but we still managed to find a table and get something to eat. Its a little bit out of the way, being on Rochdale Road near the CIS building but if you are on a pub crawl in the Northern Quarter its not to be missed.
